The Challenge
Chameleon is a leading television production house, responsible for shows such as Decisions – Leah’s Trials, which won an award at the 2005 Royal Television Society Educational Programme Awards. They asked Encoded to provide a premium rate TV phone-in, presenting the chance for viewers to win £1,000 of shopping at the Trafford Centre in Manchester, UK. The competition was designed to be tied in with their programme Love 2 Shop, which went out nationally every weekday on ITV1. |

The Solution
Encoded deployed a phone competition on a 60p per minute premium rate number that gave Chameleon the ability to re-record the audio prompts for the question and possible answers every day for that day’s show. They could also go to a secure online area and select which answer was the correct answer for that day. |

The Result
Chameleon had a competition that maintained viewers’ interest and generated revenue. Only the details of callers giving the correct answer were sent through to the production team, which made picking a random winner easier. |
