The Challenge
Notifi Limited is an innovative developer of Property Maintenance & Repair Systems and Lone Worker Applications in the UK. They wanted a more efficient solution for managing maintenance contracts with Local Housing Authority and Registered Social Landlord clients. Numerous man hours were lost by their engineers who turned up only to find nobody home, or found elderly customers who were uncomfortable about letting the engineers into their homes. |

The Solution
As part of Notifi’s mobile product suite for service and maintenance engineers, Encoded created an automated telephone system that alerts tenants about planned visits, giving them accurate appointment times. The voice-based system also gives tenants the name and security password of the engineer who is visiting them using Nuance Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology. |

The Result
Notifi’s clients can now inform their tenants of an appointment with minimal cost, and tenants are more secure knowing who is coming to visit them. Notifi’s solution won the “Most Effective Use of IT in the Public Sector” award at the Effective IT Awards 2004. The judging panel said about the application: “This is an excellent application of technology that took out inefficiencies and improved customer service. |
